The 2nd CERN Workshop on Electronic Publishing: New Schemes in Electronic Publishing in Physics was a success that inspired the organization of a Forum: The Impact of Electronic Publishing on Scholarly Communication to be held in Champaign, Illinois on 26-27 October 2000. The Forum is organized by Karen Schmidt and Greg Youngen, both librarians at the University of Illinois, Urbana.
The symposium's focus is on issues facing electronic publishing and the future models for scholarly communication.
Topics included in the discussion will be what changes are taking place in this field and how those changes will affect scholars and consumers of information.
