Editorial Issue 7

Victoria A. Reich describes the LOCKKS model for low-cost, persistent, digital caches of authoritative versions of http-delivered content. Libraries should own rather than lease electronic information and thus retain their traditional custodial role for scholarly information.

Luca Carbonari and Gilda Leoni tell us about Enrico Fermi's 'Italian season' in the 1920s and 1930s and then describe the new Enrico Fermi Centre for Study and Research in Rome. They provide us with copious notes and a list of further reading.

Maywenn Haldimann and Ingrid Geretschläger lead us through the reorganization of the videotape collection in the CERN Library.

We are rather late with this issue since one of the key members of our group left CERN for pastures new in the autumn. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jean-Philippe Schmitt for his dedication to our Webzine during his time here and wish him success at RERO, The Library Network of Western Switzerland. http://www.rero.ch/

On behalf of the Editorial Board, we would like to welcome Joanne Yeomans who has joined us from Leeds University Library.
